Now the iPhone maker is looking to step in the digital-advertising business. It seems that Apple’s global smartphone sales are not enough to make it a trillion-dollar company. This means that people are holding on to their expensive devices for a longer periods of time.

Over the past year, Apple has met with numerous social media companies such as Snap Inc., Pinterest Inc., etc. about participating in an Apple Network ad business. This will expand Apple’s current business of promotional ads that are shown in its App store. It is reported that Apple Inc. has made nearly $1 billion in revenue last year.

This move will push Apple to compete in a digital ad market that is highly dominated by Google and Facebook Inc. It’s interesting to see how Apple will survive in a market that is highly dominated by its rivals. Meanwhile, it is also interesting to see how Apple will handle its users’ data since it prides on keeping its users’ data private and safe. Competing with Google and Facebook is going to be an interesting event since it wouldn’t be easy to compete with highly established companies in the ad market. Apple Inc.’s expansion in the ad market looks like a dream. Let’s see what happens next.
